Family & Couple’s Therapy

Family & Couple’s Therapy

At Strive, we understand that families and couples are more than just individuals—they are dynamic systems where each person’s experiences affect the whole. Our therapy sessions create a supportive space to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and navigate challenges together.

We help families and couples address:

  • Child behavioral concerns
  • Conflict and communication struggles
  • Major life transitions
  • Boundaries and healthy structure
  • Loss and grief
  • Adoption and blended family adjustments
  • Divorce, separation, or caregiving changes

Whether working with the whole family, parents and children, or couples seeking deeper connection, we’re here to support your journey toward a healthier, more balanced home.

Couples and family therapy are different from individual therapy in how they are structured and delivered. Insurance companies generally require mental health services to be connected to a diagnosed mental health condition for one identified patient. In couples and family therapy, however, the focus is typically on the relationship and family dynamics rather than on treating a single individual’s diagnosis.

Insurance guidelines can also limit how sessions are structured. Effective couples and family therapy often includes different formats such as meeting with family members individually at times, bringing everyone together in joint sessions, extending session length, or focusing on patterns within the relationship or family system. These approaches are central to many evidence-based couples and family therapy models.

Because of these limitations, we do not bill insurance for couples or family therapy services. Offering these services outside of insurance allows us to provide care that is more flexible, relationship-focused, and aligned with best practices for this type of work.

Couples and family therapy are offered as private-pay specialty services.
